Soccer AM via their verified Twitter account enquired who supporters thought was the best player in the Championship and several Leeds fans named the same player when responding. Many Whites supporters revealed they believe 23-year-old midfield enforcer Kalvin Phillips is the best player featuring in England’s second-tier this season, with one even boldly claiming it’s not even close. While few other Leeds fans did mention the likes of Jack Clarke and Pablo Hernandez, it seems Phillips was the more popular choice. It’s fair to say that the midfielder has had a fantastic campaign by all accounts this season and has more often than not wowed in the 31 outings he has made across all competitions. With this in mind it’s fair to say that if Leeds do go on to win promotion, you’d back Phillips to be one of the players capable of seamlessly making the step up to the higher division. Hopefully the Whites do go up for the sake of the 23-year-old at the very least, as his talents deserve to be on a bigger platform based on his recent form.
