Many Leeds United fans will be fearing the worst about their side facing Swansea City on Wednesday as it would be extra painful if Daniel James wowed against them.
As Leeds Live state the Whites came oh so close to signing the impressive 21-year-old winger in January with him even undergoing a medical before the deal fell through.
It would be quite ironic and just so predictable if James who is now having to get back into the Swans’ first-team after nearly exiting the club, was the player who stole the show on Wednesday for the Swans.
Leeds fans will be particularly fearing the worst as it’s seems likely that James will feature against them on Wednesday after Swans boss Graham Potter hinted he could choose the winger for the match while giving his latest display a glowing endorsement.
“It was a Dan James performance which is one of incredible effort,” said the Swans manager, as quoted by Leeds Live.
“He was explosive, got the crowd on their feet, he got hit and got up and worked to do his best for the team.
“It was a fully committed performance and I was really proud of him.
“He’s available for selection for Leeds, you just have to watch it with the three games in a week and how quickly he can recover because he sprints so much.”
James, who has been involved in six goals for the Swans this season, has the tools to cause Leeds damage as he has slick dribbling ability and can play a defence splitting pass.
Also while the 21-year-old may have been keen to make the switch to Elland Road with him definitely at the Swans until at least the end of the season, he will want to endear himself with fans and his manager after coming so close to an exit.
The best and quickest way to do this is to be a certified nightmare for Leeds by being at his best as it would lead to Swansea fans soon singing the dazzler names once again.
Given that James is talented and could be extra motivated to inflict damage on Leeds, many supporters of Marcelo Bielsa’s supporters are no doubt fearing the worst about their side facing him.
