Kemar Roofe has been pictured wearing a leg brace to spark fears he has suffered a serious injury ahead of Leeds United’s promotion run-in.

The striker uploaded an image on to his personal Instagram story of his snoring dog that shows a glimpse of the strapping on his left leg.

Roofe also posed with a fan at the Light leisure complex in Leeds city centre on Saturday wearing the brace on a weekend when the team are without a fixture and Marcelo Bielsa gave the first-team squad four days off.

OPINION

Roofe is one player that Leeds can ill afford to lose. The club’s 14-goal top scorer has been one of the Championship’s most potent attackers this season, even though his form has dipped since the turn of the year. Roofe has dropped into a deeper role in the last two matches to allow fit-again Patrick Bamford to spearhead the attack, but he has been a key man under Marcelo Bielsa this season and is one of a handful of players who have been selected in the starting XI for every match they have been available for. Roofe has had the best campaign of his career under the Argentine manager, causing massive headaches to Championship defences with his mobility, movement and running. His finishing has improved, too, and there is no doubt he is one of the most important players in Bielsa’s side. Little wonder that fans are getting agitated about the possibility of his injury being a serious one.
