OPINION
It’s fair to say that Pep Guardiola’s revelation that he is “a supporter of Leeds” has got fans of the Yorkshire giants talking today. The Manchester City manager delivered a ringing endorsement of Marcelo Bielsa in the wake of the spygate scandal and, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, is eager for United to end their 15-year spell in the lower league doldrums with a return to the Premier League under the Argentine. Leeds fans are lapping up the claim from Guardiola, widely regarded as the outstanding coach in world football after taking Manchester City to a new level following similar achievements at Bayern Munich and Barcelona. For good measure, they are eager for the Spaniard to do their club a transfer favour this month by loaning them City wonderkid Phil Foden. The midfielder is bursting with potential following some precocious performances for the champions and Leeds supporters are convinced he could take their own side to the next level.
