Leeds United will be without Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi for Saturday’s clash against Millwall in a devastating triple blow, it has been confirmed.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa revealed at his media conference at lunchtime on Thursday, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay, that the key trio will all miss the trip to the New Den.

Bielsa explained that star striker Roofe has a knock, attacking midfielder Hernandez will be out for at least three weeks with a muscle injury and defender Berardi has not recovered from the knee injury sustained against Middlesbrough two weeks ago.

The bad news just keeps coming for Leeds. Following Monday’s announcement that Patrick Bamford will be sidelined for four months, now it has been confirmed by Bielsa that Roofe, Hernandez and Berardi are also sidelined for the weekend. An already tricky assignment is taking on daunting proportions. All three of Roofe, Hernandez and Berardi have made outstanding starts to the season and adapted superbly to the demands of Bielsa. Roofe has scored four goals from six league matches and played the best football of his career while making the central striking role his own. Hernandez has provided superlative guile from the right flank, while another league ever-present Berardi has adapted brilliantly after being moved across from full-back to a new centre-back role.
