COMMENTARY:
There is growing excitement among Leeds fans about the potential of Edmondson. A few of their rising stars made a first team impact at the end of last season – most notably Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Tom Pearce – but whispers are growing increasingly loud that Edmondson could be the best of the lot. Signed from National League north outfit York City just a month after he made his senior bow, Edmondson has made a huge impact in his nine months at Elland Road. He was in stunning form for Leeds’ Under-18s last season, helping them win the Professional Development League north division with his prolific goalscoring. After also impressing for the Under-23s, he was fast-tracked into the senior side by ex-boss Paul Heckingbottom and was given his Leeds first-team debut on the final day of the 2017/18 season. It certainly can only help that Edmondson has impeccable Leeds credentials. He was born in Harrogate but is a lifelong fan of the Whites.
