Caleb Ekuban completed 90 minutes in the defeat to Preston on Tuesday night – and Leeds United fans on Twitter annihilated him for his performance.

The 24-year-old centre-forward failed to impress on his return to the starting XI and was wasteful in front of goal.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side slipped down to 14th in the Championship table after a 3-1 away defeat, which epitomised their poor form of recent months.

Kemar Roofe did give the visitors an early lead in the first-half, but goals from Paul Gallagher and Sean Maguire early in the second period turned the game on its head.

Preston then made sure of the three points courtesy of an Alan Browne header and they kept their slim play-off hopes alive.

Leeds travel to fourth-placed Aston Villa in their next match and most people are begging for the season to end.

They suffered an injury to yet another defender in Pontus Jansson when he was forced off and the squad is looking extremely thin right now.

Leeds fans on social ??media decided to single out Ekuban for criticism after his performance and believe he was shocking in front of goal.

One supporter even compared the striker to ex-Whites player Jimmy Kebe, who massively flopped at Elland Road on loan back in 2014.

Ekuban has really struggled since his arrival in the summer and has just two goals across all competitions this season.
