Leeds United attacker Stuart Dallas has withdrawn from international duty with Northern Ireland due to an injury, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet reports that the 26-year-old is one of three senior players to pull out of the national team squad ahead of a match against South Korea.

It is understood that the left-winger has a thigh strain and will return to Elland Road for treatment on his injury.

Dallas is the second Leeds player on Thursday to suffer an injury setback, with young goalkeeper Will Huffer reportedly forced to pull out of the England Under-20s squad.

Whites manager Paul Heckingbottom is starting to pick up a few injuries and wide man Dallas could be a big miss in the remainder of the season.

He has featured regularly since the mid-season arrival of the manager, but has been unable to prevent his side drift 12 points away from the play-off positions.

OPINION

Dallas will be gutted that he isn’t involved for Northern Ireland and his best form in the last 12 months has arguably come on the international stage. The winger has tremendous work-rate and is a dedicated player at Elland Road, but he has been lacking the final ball. He has managed just two goals and two assists in 27 games for Leeds this season, which is miles off the standard he should be at. Heckingbottom needs to work out the players in his squad that can have a future under him and Dallas’ position could be under threat if he misses the rest of the campaign due to injury.
