Jurgen Klopp has identified Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele as the perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, according to Diario Gol.

The Spanish football outlet claim that the German manager believes the 20-year-old winger would be the ideal substitute for Salah, as the Egyptian international is certain to leave Anfield next season.

Diario Gol report that Barcelona are keen to get rid of Dembele in order not to stunt his development, as his playing time will be limited if the expected signing of Antoine Griezmann happens in the summer.

Dembele has struggled to feature for the Spanish giants this season, but has registered six assists in 14 appearances.

Last season when the 20-year-old was at Borussia Dortmund, the winger racked up an impressive 21 assists in 49 outings.

Good move for Liverpool?

It would be an amazing move for Liverpool, even if meant Salah leaving the club.

The Reds would be greatly weakened by the Egyptian international’s departure, but the arrival of Dembele from Barcelona would soon make up for it.

The 20-year-old has only struggled in Spain due to an injury stopping him from settling in quickly.

Likely to happen?

No.

Dembele may be destined to leave Barcelona in the summer but it’s hard to believe a report that refers to Salah as leaving Anfield as a certainty.

The Egyptian international may attract the interest of the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona due to his form this season, but the Reds will hold onto him tightly.
