Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom has revealed he has already been impressed by attacker Hadi Sacko since he took charge at Elland Road.

The Whites boss took control of his first home game at the weekend and saw his side recover from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Bristol City.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe netted second-half goals to earn the hosts a Championship point, which leaves them eight points adrift of the play-offs.

Heckingbottom revealed in his post-match press conference that electric winger Sacko has impressed him during his short time at the club.

The 23-year-old has caught the eye already under the new boss and featured as a substitute in his first two games in charge.

Sacko was considered a flop under former manager Thomas Christiansen and only played 14 times this season before Heckingbottom’s appointment.

“He’s (Sacko) impressed that’s why he was in there. I’ll judge people on what I see and that’s it,” Heckingbottom said, as quoted by Leeds Live.

OPINION

Sacko certainly failed to make an impact in the first half of the season under Christiansen and has been given a huge reprieve following the arrival of a new manager. The right-winger clearly has an abundance of pace and trickery in his locker, which should see him tear up Championship defences on a weekly basis. However, there have always been questions marks over his end product and at 21 he is certainly nowhere near the finished article. Sacko does appear to be someone who has benefited from the Heckingbottom appointment and is getting opportunities to show his worth in the first team.
