New Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom goes in search of his first win as Whites boss on Sunday as Bristol City visit Elland Road, and he must instigate a formation change for the crucial Championship clash.

Heckingbottom was appointed two weeks ago as the successor to Thomas Christiansen at Elland Road, after the Dane had overseen a disastrous run of seven games without a win.

That poor run of games had left Leeds in a precarious position in the Championship, with their play-off place now in doubt with 15 games to play.

The 40-year-old started his tenure as Whites boss last weekend with a disappointing loss to Sheffield United, with the Blades running out 2-1 winners.

A goal from Pierre-Michel Lasogga had brought Leeds back level after an early opener, but a Billy Sharp penalty consigned Leeds to eight games without a win.

They now face a tough test against the sixth-placed Robins, who are coming in off a 3-3 draw with strugglers Sunderland.

Lee Johnson’s side have shown what they are capable of with a run to the semi-finals of the League Cup this year, and will be looking to follow that up with promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

This is FutbolĀ have selected Leeds’ best possible starting XI, including two changes from the side that lost to Sheffield United, with the key being a formation switch.
