Shattering double blow for Villa

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has confirmed a shattering double injury blow ahead of their Championship clash against Fulham tomorrow, with Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah doubtful for the match.

The Villans are going in search of an eighth win in a row in the second-tier after an impressive 2-0 dismantling of neighbours Birmingham City last weekend.

But it looks as though they will be without two of their key men, with Grealish and Adomah, who was a goalscorer against the Blues, now doubts for the clash against Fulham.

As quoted by the Birmingham Mail, Bruce said: “There’s a doubt about Adomah and there’s a doubt about Grealish unfortunately. We’ll see how they both are later today.”

Goalscorer Adomah was reportedly struggling with a hamstring injury during the second half of the Second City Derby, and Grealish has sustained a slight knock this week.

The young midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance against the Blues to cap off a brilliant few weeks for the key Villa star.

Opponents Fulham come into the match on good form too, having won seven of their last nine matches in the league to sit in fifth place, seven points behind second-placed Villa.

OPINION

The losses of Grealish and Adomah will be a big blow for Villa as they search for that massive eighth win in a row in the Championship. If either player were missing on their own then there is no doubt that Villa could deal with that, but both missing at the same time would be a shattering blow. Villa have already been plagued by enough injuries this season, and their attack will look pretty thin without these two.
