Leeds United have already been widely linked with a whole hosts of strikers during the January transfer, but have had no luck and need to switch their attention elsewhere.

Thomas Christiansen needs some more firepower if his side are to end up in the play-off picture and are in danger of slipping away given their lack of goals in attack.

The Whites can’t just rely on Kemar Roofe and Pierre-Michel Lasogga to fire the necessary goals in the second half of the season, which is why a new addition is pivotal.

Leeds should cast their eye of Manchester City wonderkid Lukas Nmecha and trying to bring him to Elland Road during the remainder of the January window.

The Daily Mail reports that Championship side Sunderland are keen on landing the 19-year-old striker on loan for the rest of the season.

However, the Yorkshire giants must hijack their interest and bringing the pacy centre-forward could breathe new life into their promotion bid.

Nmecha made his first-team debut this season for Premier League leaders Man City in the cup and is extremely highly rated at the Etihad Stadium.

The forward has been in stunning goalscoring form at Under-23s level too this campaign with nine goals in nine appearances.

There is no guarantee he could replicate that in the Championship, but he has all the tools to become a top player and a stint of senior football will only help his development.

Nmecha started his career as a wide man and has slowly become a prolific striker over the years.

The forward was born in Germany, but is eligible to play for England and helped the Under-19s become European Champions in 2017.

The Man City rising star would be a bit of a left-field option at this point, but other avenues have failed and they could potentially pick up an extreme talent if they play their cards right.
