Leeds United should consider a swoop to sign Liverpool sensation Ben Woodburn in January and he could fire them to a play-off spot if he moved to Elland Road.

The Daily Mail report that the Premier League giants are prepared to loan out the 18-year-old attacker when the transfer window re-opens in January.

It is understood that there is set to be a mad scramble for the highly-rated talent and that the Reds want him to leave to gain regular first-team experience.

The report details that the Championship is the most likely destination for the left-winger and as a result Leeds should look to pounce for his signature.

Woodburn is already a fully pledged Wales international with six caps and the teenager scored on his debut against Austria back in September.

The versatile attacker, who can play anywhere across the frontline, is renowned for being a serious goal threat and has shown that for Liverpool’s youth teams over the years.

He has managed 10 senior appearances for the Merseyside club and they now feel a temporary exit will help him develop as a player.

Leeds are on the cusp of a play-off position right now and they may just need to bring in some extra firepower in January to get them over the line in the hunt for promotion.

Thomas Christiansen’s side should take a punt on the Liverpool starlet that has the potential to rip up the Championship with his quick dribbling and eye for goal.

The Whites have often rotated their players in wide areas with Ezgjan Alioski the only mainstay this campaign.

It is crucial for Leeds to keep a high level of consistency and winning the race for Woodburn could certainly give them a greater chance of a Premier League return.
