Klich and Cubicki in Leeds squad

|

Mateusz Klich, Pawel Cibicki and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson are in the Leeds United travelling party for their Championship clash against QPR on Saturday afternoon, according to a reliable journalist.

The trio have been on the fringes of Thomas Christiansen’s side this season after struggling to make an impression following their summer arrivals.

But Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay reported on his personal Twitter account soon after his arrival at Loftus Road for the 3pm kick-off that the outcasts were in attendance.

Central midfielder Clich and left-back Borthwick-Jackson have made just one league start apiece this season, while versatile forward Cibicki is still waiting for his league debut.

The three have failed to even make the matchday squad for recent fixtures, but Christiansen revealed on Friday that he was unable to call upon Pablo Hernandez, Stuart Dallas and Pierre-Michel Lasogga for the Loftus Road clash.

OPINION

With fixtures coming thick and fast, and injuries starting to bite, Christiansen has to make full use of his squad and turn to players whose involvement has been restricted in the opening half of the campaign. Manchester United loanee Borthwick-Jackson and Poland international Klich have been real disappointments, but it is not too late for them to turn their Leeds careers around and become central figures in the team.
