Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has stuck by wide man Ezgjan Alioski this season, but it is time he is binned from the starting XI after his dreadful form.

The 25-year-old made a decent start following his summer arrival and has become a mainstay in the Whites line up.

He is used as a winger by the Yorkshire giants and his form has deteriorated hugely in the past couple of months.

Alioski has not scored since the 26 August in a Championship win over Nottingham Forest and his overall contribution to the side has not been good enough recently.

Leeds have been carrying too many players in their side which has coincided with five league defeats from their last six games and Alioski should be axed from the team as a result.

Christiansen clearly needs to change things to reignite his side and bringing in a new attacking threat to give his side a greater damager in the final third would be a smart move.

Pablo Hernandez is the perfect solution for the Championship side and it’s staggering that someone as talented as him is struggling to cement a position.

The 32-year-old has started just once in the last five league games and his best run in the side this season was during the club’s brilliant start.

He has the technically ability to frighten all defences in the Championship and the prospect of having him in-form alongside Samuel Saiz is frightening.

Hernandez may not be everyone’s cup of tea and you may be sacrificing some more defensive work outside to play him, but he offers so much more going forward than Alioski.

Hernandez was Leeds’ best player on the pitch during the EFL Cup defeat away to Leicester and there is no doubt he is a Premier League player on his day.

He certainly deserves a recall to the side in place of the out of sorts Alioski and it could spark new life into Leeds as an attacking sense.

Christiansen’s solution is staring him right in the face as most opponents must be relieved every week when they see Hernadnez omitted from the starting XI.
