Leeds United managed to pick up a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday in the Championship and there were plenty of talking points after the match.

Thomas Christiansen’s side got a much needed three points as they beat Garry Monk’s side at Elland Road.

The Whites were cruising to the win courtesy of goals from Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski, with the hosts rediscovering some of their best form.

However, a late penalty from Britt Assombalonga for the visitors set up a nervous finale and they managed to survive a late storm.

Leeds have climbed to seventh in the league standings after the win and got their promotion bid back on track as they closed the gap on the play-off positions.

The Yorkshire giants now turn their attention to a mid-week clash away to leaders Wolves and will be in for a very stern test.
