Marcus Antonsson continued his great form by helping Blackburn Rovers beat Blackpool on Tuesday night in League One – and the Leeds United fans on Twitter raved about the striker.

The 26-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Ewood Park from the Whites and has made a great impact so far.

He scored his eighth goal of the season in midweek as Blackburn climbed up to fourth in League One with a 4-2 away win.

Antonsson was shipped out on loan by Leeds in the summer after a frustrating first season after a frustrating first season with the club.

The Swedish centre-forward made 21 appearances across all competitions during the 2016/17 campaign and managed just three goals in return.

He has since dropped down to League One to rediscover his goalscoring form and is playing a key role in the Blackburn team.

Leeds fans on social media raved about Antonsson after another impressive display from him on Tuesday and some have suggested that he is recalled from his loan deal early.

Antonsson endured a frustrating start to life in English football with Leeds and was stuck behind Chris Wood for much of last season.

Whites manager Thomas Christiansen currently has several players competing for a striker role with the likes of Caleb Ekuban, Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe in contention.

Some Leeds fans are hoping that Antonsson can be a future first teamer at Elland Road after impressing out on loan.

The centre-forward has good pace and has proven to be clinical in front of goal in the 18-yard box.
