Leeds United’s blip entered the realms of full-blown crisis following Saturday’s defeat at Brentford – and supporters took to Twitter to lay into Luke Ayling for his performance.
The right-back has started all 16 of United’s Championship matches this season and played the full 90 minutes of the 3-1 loss at Griffin Park.
But Leeds fans are losing patience with the 26-year-old after his error-prone display against Brentford as the team slumped to their sixth defeat in seven league matches and their seventh in eight games in all competitions.
The Yorkshire giants have slipped to 10th in the table, just four points above 17th, as a result of their horror run.
Manager Thomas Christiansen has chopped and changed his defenders in recent matches but has remained faithful to former Bristol City player Ayling.
Supporters believe that the defender should now pay the price for his recent form, which they claim is way below the required standard.

Ayling needs resting, Okane needs resting. Both look lacklustre and are having again, a below average game #lufc

I’d be dropping Lonergan, Ayling, O’Kane, Vieira and probably Lasogga. None of them have shown up recently. Make them earn a place. #LUFC
