Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to call for Stuart Dallas to be reinstated in their starting XI after his performance for Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifier play-off second leg against Switzerland on Sunday night.
The Elland Road winger shook off a foot injury sustained in the first leg in Belfast on Thursday night to take his place in Michael O’Neill’s side as they drew 0-0 in Basel to lose the fixture 1-0 on aggregate.
Dallas played the full 90 minutes of the clash as Northern Ireland’s hopes of making the World Cup finals for the first time since 1986 ended with the Sunday stalemate.
The winger has had to settle for a fringe role at Leeds this season under Thomas Christiansen, completing only 90 minutes on two occasions in the Championship, with 10 of his appearances in the competition coming as a substitute.
Deployed mostly in a left midfield role for Christiansen and even once at left-back, Dallas has contributed two goals and one assist in his 15 appearances in all competitions.
However, Leeds fans were hugely encouraged by the 26-year-old’s performance for his country, with most calling to Christiansen to name him in the starting XI for Sunday’s pivotal Championship clash against Middlesbrough.

I'd like to take this opportunity to start a campaign: #DallasOnTheWing. I do believe Stuart Dallas to be a better winger than what we currently have. Give him a go. I don't believe he's a world beater, but I do think he is very suited to this league.
