Leeds United will beat Middlesbrough if they make three changes to the side that were beaten 2-1 by Brentford before the international break.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have lost six of their last seven league matches, but they showed enough in the early weeks of the season to suggest promotion is a very achievable aim.

So, what must Leeds do to return to the red hot side who were scoring goals for fun, being Scrooge-like at the back and racking up points with such abandon some fans were contemplating promotion to be wrapped up early in the new year?

Make some changes, for starters, against Garry Monk’s side. The microscope has to be centred on the players and how their standards have slipped as the rug was pulled from under the team against Cardiff, Reading, the two Sheffield clubs, Derby County and Brentford.

Leeds have insisted that Christiansen’s job is safe despite the team’s wretched recent form and there is confidence that he can end the horror run of results.

This Is Futbol has selected a starting XI, featuring three changes from the Brentford match, that can tear the fifth-placed visitors apart at Elland Road, with a recall for an attacking midfielder with a rare creative gift.
