Derby midfielder Bradley Johnson believes that Leeds United will want a reaction when they face his side on Tuesday night.

The Whites welcome the Rams to Elland Road for a Championship encounter and will be looking to rediscover their top form.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have lost four of their last five league matches and are down to fifth in the table as a result

Meanwhile, Derby have climbed to seventh after six games unbeaten and are in strong form.

Johnson will hope to be involved for the visitors and has scored four goals in his 12 appearances so far this season.

The 30-year-old has become an important player for Derby and will be fully aware of the pressure that will await his side at Elland Road.

Johnson previously made 137 appearances for Leeds earlier in his career and the goalscoring midfielder has become a proven Championship player.

“The fans (Leeds) up there are terrific, they’ve got a great fanbase, but our away fans make a lot of noise and I’m sure it will be a hostile game,” Johnson told RamsTV.

“They’ll want a reaction after their result on Friday, so hopefully it’ll be a good game with a good atmosphere and we can get three points.”

OPINION

Leeds will certainly be desperate for a response to their recent 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United and need a run of strong results to stay in touch of the automatic spots. Christiansen’s side have the quality to beat anyone in the division on their day and will hope some of their star man can recapture their best form against Derby. Johnson will hope to be at his best against his former side and could line up against the likes of Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira in the midfield. The centre of the park is set to be a crucial part of the game and the winners of that battle could end up the overall victors.
