Pontus Jansson if fully available for selection at the weekend when Leeds United host Reading, according to his older brother Peter.

The Whites return to action after the international break with a Championship clash against Reading and are expected to have their defender in the side.

He was stretchered off against Sheffield Wednesday after a collision with teammate Kalvin Phillips before the internationals, but his brother has given the all clear by stating he will be available.

“All is fine now. Pontus is training with the team and is ready to play on Saturday. Hugely important game,” Peter wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Jansson is considered to be a key man for Leeds and the centre-back has been in brilliant form so far this season.

The Yorkshire giants will need their Swedish colossus at his very best on Saturday against Reading as they need to bounce back after a dip in form.

They are currently fifth in the table, but have fallen from top of the league after three defeats in their last four games.

OPINION

Jansson is arguably the most important player in the Leeds side and having him in the starting XI no doubt makes them a better side. The centre-back has a formidable partnership alongside captain Liam Cooper and the duo could be one of the toughest in the Championship to break down. Jansson is no doubt good enough to play in the Premier League and it would be no surprise to see top-flight clubs eyeing him up. Leeds need to try secure promotion this season or they could risk losing the Sweden international. He is a big fan favourite at Elland Road because of his no-nonsense defensive style and will play a vital role in their promotion hopes.
