Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to pour scorn on former owner Massimo Cellino after he was slapped with a 12-month FA suspension on Monday.
The controversial Italian had endless run-ins with the authorities and during his three-and-half-year spell at Leeds, culminating in a 12-month ban from football activities for breaching agent regulations in the transfer of Ross McCormack from United to Fulham in the summer of 2014.
The FA announced on their official website on Monday that they had dismissed Cellino’s appeal and that a £100,000 fine and year-long ban from the game had been upheld.
It is unclear whether Cellino, who took over as the owner of Serie B club Brescia in the summer, will be able to operate as a director in his native Italy but Leeds fans are celebrating that he is no longer at their club.
Most reacted with sarcasm and humour to the Monday news as they reflected how Leeds were better off without the erratic businessman.

Poor Brescia. Doesn’t that mean he’ll be banned over there for a year too?

Well this is interesting news. Wonder what the chances of him paying that fine are?

Sorry to hear this but he is a bit of a maverick, he did keep us afloat as well, glad we’ve got Andrea Radrizzani now.
