Leeds United will reignite their promotion campaign if they make four changes to the side that were demolished in last weekend’s derby at Sheffield Wednesday.

Thomas Christiansen’s side were red hot in the early weeks of the season as they scored handfuls of goals, kept it tight at the back and racked up points while playing an expansive style of play that was a massive upgrade on the one-dimensional style under Garry Monk.

But three consecutive away defeats have cooled expectations, brought a reality check and a recognition among the fan base that reaching the magic 80-point mark for the campaign will be as fiendishly difficult as ever.

The microscope has been centred on the players and how their standards have slipped as the rug has been pulled from under the team during away defeats last week at Cardiff and Wednesday.

Changes are needed for fifth-placed Leeds’ next match, a Championship fixture against 20th-placed Reading at Elland Road in nine day’s time.

This Is Futbol has selected a starting XI, featuring four changes from the Hillsborough capitulation, that can rip Jaap Stam’s side to shreds immediately after the international break.
