Samu Saiz made his full league debut for Leeds United in their 0-0 draw against Fulham on Tuesday night – and fans took to Twitter to rave about him.

The Spanish playmaker was named in the starting XI as one of three attacking midfielders along with Pablo Hernandez and another new arrival Ezgjan Alioski after Thomas Christiansen axed Kemar Roofe from the team that drew against 10-man Preston at the weekend.

Leeds failed to score for the second home match in four days but most supporters were encouraged by their team’s display against 2016-17 play-off semi-finalists Fulham.

The Elland Road faithfully universally acclaimed the performance of Saiz, 26, as they noted how his composure on the ball and willingness to work hard off it can make him a roaring success this season.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Saiz marked his Leeds debut with a brilliant hat-trick in the team’s League Cup triumph over Port Vale last week.

The playmaker produced three classy finishes to set up a 4-1 win in the first round of the competition and announce himself after a £3million move from Spanish side Huesca last month.

Saiz was then a second-half substitute in Leeds’ draw against Preston last Saturday before being handed his first league start against Fulham.
