Tottenham odds drop on signing King

|

Tottenham are the clear favourites to sign Bournemouth goal machine Josh King this summer, according to the latest bookmakers odds.

Bet Victor had priced Spurs as 6/1 joint favourites alongside Premier League rivals Everton earlier in the month to sign the 25-year-old attacker this summer.

However, on Saturday July 1 the north London club had their odds slashed by the same bookmakers and are now priced as clear favourites at 4/5, while Everton remain at 6/1.

London rivals West Ham have also seen a change in odds in the opposite direction and after being priced 8/1 earlier in the month they are now trailing further at 12/1 alongside West Brom and any Italian, German, Spanish or French club.

The change in odds comes after the Telegraph reported on Friday that Mauricio Pochettino’s team are ready to launch a bid to sign the former Manchester United man.

The Norway international has been heavily linked with a move to north London this summer and it is thought that Pochettino is looking for a versatile attacker with both Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela currently injured.

King has certainly shown through his career that he has the ability to play on the left, right and through the centre and last season he managed a fantastic return of 16 goals in 36 Premier League matches.

He is however still contracted to the Cherries until 2020 and Eddie Howe’s side are believed to value their star at £30million, meaning Tottenham will have to splash the cash if they are to secure his signing.
