Tottenham ready to launch King bid

|

Tottenham are ready to launch a bid for Bournemouth attacker Josh King as Mauricio Pochettino looks to strengthen his attacking options at the club, according to the Telegraph.

The report details that Spurs are looking to offer the south coast side the chance to recoup some of the cash they have spent to acquire Nathan Ake and Asmir Begovic from Chelsea so far this summer alongside the high wage offered to Jermain Defoe.

It is however understood that the Cherries themselves value 25-year-old King as highly as £30million, which would match last summer’s record fee spent to bring in attacking flop Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle.

But, King did also have a far more convincing last campaign than what the Frenchman had in his final year in the north east with the 28-time capped Norway international understood to have caught Pochettino’s eye with his fine return of 16 goals from 36 Premier League matches.

It is also believed that the Argentine boss is looking for a forward who can play across the front line with Son Heung-min potentially missing the start of the next season, while Erik Lamela is also suffering a long term injury.

Bournemouth’s goal machine certainly boasts the ability to play out wide on both the left and right wing, while he also played as a centre-forward during the last campaign.
