Swiss side FC Lugano have confirmed that 25-year-old Ezgjan Alioski has taken part in what is likely to be his final training session with the club ahead of an imminent move to an English side.

The versatile attacker has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds this summer, with Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post claiming on his personal Twitter account on Saturday that the club had stepped up their interest.

Now his current club have confirmed on their official website that a move to an “English club” is imminent, although stop short of confirming which side it is.

The news comes after the Swiss side’s manager confirmed in an interview with RSI Sport at the start of the month that the player was set to depart.

Able to operate in any role across the attack, the Macedonian player enjoyed some fine form during the last campaign.

He hit home 16 goals and provided his team mates with another 14 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions, helping his side to a third placed finish in the Swiss Super League.

His arrival would be another signing in a busy transfer window at Elland Road this summer, following the arrivals of Hadi Sacko, Felix Weidwald, Mateusz Klich and Vurnon Anita.

The Whites also look set to secure deals with Samuel Saiz and Caleb Ekuban with medicals set to have taken place today (Tuesday).
