Marco Silvestri has dropped a major Twitter that he is to sign a major deal – and Leeds United fans have mostly offered their support to the goalkeeper.
The Elland Road number two has been linked with a summer transfer after losing out to England international Rob Green in the first for the regular keeping spot last season.
Former Italy Under-21 international Silvestri had been the undisputed No1 for the two seasons before Green’s arrival but he was forced to play second fiddle to the veteran in his third campaign at the club.
Silvestri posted a teasing message on his personal Twitter account in the early hours of Thursday that read ‘Soon’ in block letters, accompanied by an image of him in action in goal.

The Leeds faithful reacted en masse to Silvestri’s suggestion that he had either secured a new contract with the Yorkshire giants, or agreed a transfer from Elland Road that will imminently be announced.
Most urged the 26-year-old, who joined from Chievo on a four-year deal in 2014, to stay at Leeds and fight for his place.

Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio, who is renowned as a transfer expert, claimed on his personal website earlier this month that newly promoted Serie A club SPAL are in talks with Leeds about signing Silvestri.
Ex-England international Green played the entirety of Leeds’ 46-match Championship campaign in 2016-17 and was arguably the team’s outstanding player in the final months of the campaign.
The veteran, 38, was also recently rewarded with a new contract that will keep him at Elland Road until the end of next season.
By contrast, all six appearances from Silvestri were made in cup competitions and it remains to be seen whether he is willing to spend another campaign on the substitute’s bench.
