John Hartson believes that Celtic will find it hard to turn down a £25million bid for forward Moussa Dembele this summer.

The 20-year-old has caught the attention of a number of European clubs following his sensational debut season at Celtic Park.

The Daily Record recently reported that Premier League champions Chelsea are ready to splash the cash on the striker this summer with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund also interested in a move.

Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio also claimed on his personal website that Serie A side AC Milan have already contacted Dembele over a potential move.

Speaking to the Daily Record, former Celtic man Hartson is convinced that the Hoops will have no choice but to sell the forward should a club place a substantial offer on the table.

“I think Celtic will sell Dembele if they get £25m,” he said.

“It’s okay talking about turning it down but when you actually see a bid in black and white and it says £25m then it’s difficult to turn down.

“If he sells Dembele and they get the right money for him then they he’ll obviously need to add another striker.

“They need quality and they’ve got money. They earned from the Champions League and if they sell Dembele then it’s the best part of £50m.”

The young Frenchman was outstanding for Celtic last season, scoring 32 goals and providing nine assists in 49 matches in all competitions.

Dembele played an important role in helping the Hoops achieve a historic treble where they managed to remain unbeaten throughout the entire domestic season.

The striker has endeared himself to the Celtic faithful especially as he has scored five goals against Rangers in the Old Firm derby, including a hat-trick in the 5-1 victory at Celtic Park in September.
