Andrea Radrizzani has revealed Leeds United will begin interviewing manager candidates this week – and fans have expressed their gratitude that the wheels are in motion to find Garry Monk’s successor.
Elland Road sole owner Radrizzani took to his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night to deliver a managerial update to supporters wondering what progress has been made in the search to replace Monk.
The Italian businessman admitted he was aware of the “frustration” of the Leeds faithful but it was “important we take the time” to find the best possible manager.
I understand frustration, we are meeting candidates this week. It is important we take the time to make the best decision for the club #LUFC

Leeds fans thanked Radrizzani for a degree of transparency, with some expressing their belief that a role should be found for current assistant manager Pep Clotet.
Others simply stated the Championship club’s chief decision maker should simply hire the best possible man for the job, however long that takes.

Reports have dismissed the possibility that early frontrunner Aitor Karanka will take over from Monk, who handed in his resignation 12 days ago.
The current bookmakers’ favourites for the vacant post are Clotet and ex-Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, who are both priced at 5/2.
They are narrowly ahead of former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew, who is 3/1.
