Vinnie Jones has admitted that he is “very reserved” about Leeds’ new manager Thomas Christiansen.

Former Spain international Christiansen was appointed as the new head coach of the Championship outfit on Wednesday following Garry Monk’s departure in May.

Throughout the recently concluded season, Jones was very outspoken on his personal Twitter account about his former club.

The former midfielder was full of praise for Monk and the manner in which he had turned Leeds into promotion hopefuls despite the club missing out on the top-six by five points.

However, he did admit that he still cannot figure out why Monk opted to leave as he delivered his verdict on the new man in the Elland Road dugout.

“Still haven’t got my head around Garry Monk decision to leave,” Jones wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Very reserved about the new man, last-16 in the Europa, oh really.”

Christiansen will be under huge pressure to deliver the goods next season, with supporters expecting the club to build on their promotion charge from the previous campaign.

Their new manager recently won the first division title in Cyprus with APOEL Nicosia added with the fact that he guided the club to the last-16 of the Europa League.

Now, Christiansen will be hoping to bring that success to Leeds and to a side that has been craving top-flight football for the past 13 years.

The Whites were relegated from the top tier of English football during the 2003/04 season and they are yet to make a return.
