Henry Onyekuru has all but ruled out a move to Celtic as he revealed he would prefer to move to England or to another club in Belgium.

The Daily Record calim the Hoops made an offer for the KAS Eupen winger in January and were set to reignite their interest in the player this summer.

But the Nigerian has all but ruled out a move to Scotland despite Brendan Rodgers’ interest in signing him this summer.

“I keep repeating the same as the past months: everything is possible,” Onyekuru said, as quoted by the Daily Record. “Anderlecht, Club Brugge or England. I have not decided yet.

“I am enjoying myself in Belgium. This competition is fun and I’m still learning things here, but I’ve always dreamed of the Premier League. We will see, though. I still have enough time to make a decision.

“The Champions League is the lead that Anderlecht has. In addition, I can only say that there are two big clubs each with their own playing style.”

The 19-year-old has a £6.8million release clause in his contract which runs until 2020 and he has been courted by several Premier League clubs.

The Daily Star reported previously Everton were leading the race to sign the Nigerian forward after Ronald Koeman joined the contract negotiations.

However The Sun also reported Southampton were watching the talented youngster with a view to making a summer bid.

Onyekuru has enjoyed a hugely successful season and has bagged himself 12 goals and seven assists in 28 Jupiler Pro League appearances.

The left-sided winger has also shone in the Jupiler Pro Legaue play-offs, scoring 10 goals in 10 games, as well as supplying two assists.

Onyekuru’s comments will come as a blow to Rodgers who is looking to improve his squad further this summer after guiding them to a Scottish Premiership title during his first season at the helm.
