Lyon are considering a swoop for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this summer, according to L’Equipe.

The French sports newspaper claims the Ligue 1 club are looking to replace Alexandre Lacazette in the forthcoming window as he prepares to join Atletico Madrid, and Giroud is one of several players they are eyeing up.

It is said Lyon are also interested in Chelsea striker Bertrand Traoré, Bayer Leverkusen front-man Javier Hernandez and Atletico forward Kevin Gameiro.

The L’Equipe piece states Traoré would cost the French side around £17million, however no valuation is given for the other players.

Giroud has played second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates this season, though he still boasted an impressive goal return.

The 30-year-old bagged himself 12 goals in 29 Premier League outings this term, despite only starting 11 of those games.

He also impressed in the Champions League for the Gunners as he scored two goals and provided an assist in his six games.

The Frenchman joined Arsenal from Montpellier in the summer of 2012 for £10million and has since gone on to make more than 200 league and cup appearances for the club, scoring 98 goals and supplying 40 assists.

Giroud has won 61 caps for France and has scored 23 goals.

Lyon finished four-place in Ligue 1 this season, five points behind Nice in third, and 28 behind champions Monaco.
