Charlton are interested in signing Leeds attacker Lee Erwin, according to a report.

Kent Live claim that League One club Charlton have lined up the 23-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

This comes after Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay revealed that the striker is likely to be made available.

Erwin has spent the season on loan at Oldham and proved that he can be useful in League One, something that will have surely caught Charlton’s attention.

The Scottish forward made 40 appearances across all competitions, scoring an impressive 10 goals in return.

He is now set to leave Elland Road once again on loan and is unlikely to get a chance in the Whites first team, despite 30-goal striker Chris Wood being heavily relied upon throughout the season for his goals.

Erwin completed a move to Leeds in 2015 from Scottish club Motherwell and has failed to score in his 12 appearances for the Yorkshire giants.

However, he showed his qualities this season during his loan move and played an important role in Oldham’s 17th-placed finish.

Charlton will be looking to improve their squad as they try to get their way back up the footballing ladder and they have fallen a long way since their relegation from the Premier League in 2007.

However, Leeds and the Addicks do have a recent connection as Jordan Botaka was sent out on loan this season to The Valley, but he has since been released by by Garry Monk’s side.
