Leeds are set to let attacker Lee Erwin leave the club in the summer, according to a reliable journalist.

The Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay has revealed on his personal Twitter account that he 23-year-old is “likely to be made available again”.

He has just finished a season-long loan with League One club Oldham and it appears he won’t be playing at Elland Road next season.

Hay was asked on Twitter about the future of Erwin and he claimed the striker could be loaned out again despite having just one year remaining on his contract.

Erwin has impressed during his loan spell and managed 10 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

The Scottish forward helped Oldham to a 17th-placed finish in the league and was a regular feature in their starting line-up.

He is yet to make an impression on the Leeds first team following his arrival from Motherwell in 2015 and has made 12 senior appearances for them without scoring.

Erwin managed six goals and eight assists during his 39-game spells with Scottish club Motherwell, but was unable to recreate that kind of form at Elland Road.

The whites may be looking to bring in some attacking talents for next season as 30-goal sensation Chris Wood was too relied on during the course of the year, but it doesn’t seem like Erwin has done enough to force his way into Garry Monk’s plans.
