Italian boss Claudio Ranieri has insisted he does not know anything about Leeds in regards to their reported interest.

Last summer appointment Garry Monk departed from the Yorkshire giants earlier in the week, leading to ESPN claiming that the club were preparing to hold talks with Ranieri over the vacancy.

However, the 65-year-old former Leicester boss has since responded to the report, stating he has not held talks with Leeds over their manager’s position while not being made aware of their interest.

“I don’t know anything about this Leeds story. I haven’t spoken to them,” told Ranieri, as quoted by Training Ground Guru.

“I’m in London to watch the Cup final tomorrow. I’ll be supporting my old team Chelsea of course.”

It is then detailed by Training Ground Guru that when asked whether he would take the job the experienced boss replied: “I prefer not to speculate.”

Ranieri is understandably a wanted man by many due to his most recent success which saw him lead Leicester to a shock Premier League title.

In the most recent campaign he did however struggle to recapture that stunning form and he controversially lost his job in charge of the Foxes in February.

Leeds meanwhile finished in seventh place in the Championship last season and many supporters felt that it was a successful campaign despite the end of season collapse.

Fans will now be hoping the club can get the next appointment right, as they did with Monk and Ranieri, who has previously managed Greece, Monaco, Inter Milan, Roma, Juventus, Valencia, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid certainly boasts a great CV.
