Leeds fans have aired their dismay on Twitter after it was reported that the club had triggered a £1.7million clause in Hadi Sacko’s contract to buy him on a permanent transfer.
French outlet the Record has claimed that the 23-year-old winger will be a Leeds player next season with the club triggering the purchase clause in his loan agreement.
The pacey attacker spent the last campaign on loan at the Yorkshire giants from Sporting Lisbon after being brought to the club by former manager Garry Monk.
He featured in 42 matches for Leeds in all competitions as the club achieved a seventh place finish in the League, but he returned just two goals and four assists in those appearances.
Now, Leeds fans have stated on social media that they would be unimpressed if they spent such a huge fee on Sacko and many believe that there is better value for money out there.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Surely Leeds can spend £1.5m on a better player than Hadi Sacko?.. #lufc #mot

What if the new manager has the same opinion of Sacko that half the fans is, all running, skills & no end product, he goes missing too often

I think £1.6m is better spent. Canos was £2.5m but worth 5x what Sacko is imo. Obv someone believes in him at ER more so than myself

If the rumours are true and we are signing sacko – I think 1.7m for him is expensive far too inconsistent for me and frustrating player

After finishing in seventh last season many are now hoping the club can go one step further and earn a promotion spot in the next campaign.
However, it is also another rebuilding job at Leeds this summer with a new owner and manager set to come in.
