Vinnie Jones has jokingly revealed on Twitter that he “almost threw” ex-Leeds owner Massimo Cellino “over the balcony” at Watford.

Italian Cellino recently sold his stake at Elland Road to his fellow countryman Andrea Radrizzani, who is now on the lookout for a new manager after Garry Monk’s shock resignation last Thursday.

Cellino was a controversial figure during his time at the club, with the hard-hitting businessman known for his ruthless sacking of managers.

Former Wales international Jones was also a hard-hitting figure on the field of play and he didn’t take too kindly to Cellino failing to acknowledge him at his hometown club.

Here is Jones telling his Twitter followers what he almost did to the ex-Leeds man:

“I almost threw Massimo over the balcony at Watford,” Jones revealed on his personal Twitter account. “We were in the same box and he didn’t even say hello. Did he even know [my] Leeds past?”

Jones played for Leeds during the late 1980’s and early 90’s, with his career also taking him to clubs such as Chelsea and more famously Wimbledon where he won the FA Cup.

However, Jones is not shy about making his feelings known on social media, especially when it comes to one of his former clubs.

He was a great fan of Monk, who guided the club to within five points of the play-off places in his first season in charge at Elland Road.

Cellino offered the highly-rated Englishmen a one-year rolling contract last summer and supporters were keen for him to extend his deal after a positive start to the season.

Leeds were on course to securing a top six spot before four defeats during the penultimate month of the Championship campaign saw them miss out on a play-off place to Fulham.
