Leeds midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has signed a new four-year contract with the club, it has been announced.

The Yorkshire giants confirmed on Wednesday that the highly rated 18-year-old has penned an extended deal that will keep him at Yorkshire giants until the summer of 2021.

Leeds announced on their official Twitter account and website that the midfield enforcer’s third new contract in less than a year will tie him down for the long-term.

Vieira has been a key player in Garry Monk’s team this season, making 38 appearances in all competitions.

He only scored one goal, but it was an important one, a late winner in the 3-2 win over Norwich at Carrow Road in November.

Vieira made his debut for the Whites in the final game of the 2015/16 season against Preston, and since then he has not looked back.

The versatile midfielder has been deployed in a variety of positions by Monk over the course of 2016/17, seeing him play as a defensive midfielder, a attacking midfielder and as a regular central midfielder.

Vieira’s performances have also seen him rewarded with a first call-up to the England Under-20s, and he could make his debut for them later this summer.

Leeds eventually finished seventh in the Championship this term, as a drop-off in form towards the end of the season ended up costing them dearly as they slipped out of the play-off places.
