Leeds fans are divided on Twitter as to whether Marco Silva would have been a good manager for their club after he was appointed manager at Watford.
The majority of the Elland Road faithful responded to the news by claiming they were never in the running for the former Hull City boss, but others have stated he would have been a good appointment.
Watford announced the 39-year-old as their new manager on their official website on Saturday afternoon.
This comes after former Whites midfielder Andy Couzens called for the Yorkshire giants to make Silva their next boss.
Leeds are looking to fill a managerial vacancy at the club following Garry Monk’s shock resignation, and some fans had hoped it would be Silva.
The club announced Monk’s departure on their official website on Thursday afternoon after he turned down the club’s offer of a 12-month contract.
The Elland Road faithful were divided on losing out on Silva, some saying their club were never in the running for him, while others claimed he would have been a good choice.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds finished seventh in the Championship this term, after a late-season downturn in form saw them drop out of the play-off places.
It was reported by ESPN FC that United were set to hold talks with Claudio Ranieri about becoming their next manager.
However, the former Leicester, Chelsea and Juventus boss has responded to the report saying he has not had any contract with the Whites.
