Leeds get defender boost

|

Leeds’ summer transfer plans have been given a boost by Tom Beugelsdijk.

According to a report in The Express the Den Haag defender has expressed an interest in playing in English football.

Leeds were linked to Beugelsdijk during the January transfer window but the Dutch club were unwilling to consider an offer.

Beugelsdijk is under contract until the summer of 2018 which makes this summer crucial if he is going to remain at Den Haag or move elsewhere.

Garry Monk’s summer budget will be dependent on what division the club is in, if Leeds go up to the Premier League they will have more money to spend with Beugelsdijk less likely to be a target.

The former Swansea boss is keen to build on the progress made this season when a play-off place was the target.

Leeds have been in the top six for the last two months but face pressure from below after successive defeats from Huddersfield and Cardiff.
