Alvaro Morata

According to reports from Don Balon, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are ready to rival Arsenal in the race to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata during the summer transfer window.

The Spain international’s 15 goals across all competitions helped fire Juventus to a Serie A title and the Champions League final last term, but he’s struggled to have the same impact this season amid a heated struggle for places in the starting Xi with summer arrivals Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.

Nonetheless, interest in the 24-year-old remains high and recent reports have claimed Arsenal are already in talks to sign him during the summer transfer window, at the potential cost of a club-record £50million.

But according to Don Balon, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also fixtures in the race for Morata’s signature. Both clubs are expected to target front-men during the coming transfer window, lacking viable understudies to Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane respectively.

However, Real Madrid look set to activate £23million buyback clause for their former starlet – with some reports even claiming they could sell him to a Premier League suitor at around double that sum during the same transfer window.
