According to reports from Fichajes, Atletico Madrid have joined Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window.
The Belgium international has netted a whopping 25 times in 36 appearances across all competitions this season, including 18 goals in the Premier League and a brace to eliminate Chelsea from the FA Cup quarter-finals last Saturday.

Now boasting a phenomenal career return for a 22-year-old striker, 119 goals in 268 outings, a number of Europe’s top clubs appear to be courting Lukaku ahead of the summer transfer window.
Indeed, the 6 foot 3 front-man has been described as a ‘main transfer target‘ for United, Chelsea are reportedly ready to re-sign their former starlet and Bayern Munich have also been linked, whilst the latest reports from Fichajes claim Atletico Madrid will target him in the summer as well.
The Mattress Makers are searching for a replacement to Jackson Martinez, who moved to the Chinese Super League in a €42million transfer last month, and the beastly Belgian – reportedly valued by Everton at a whopping £56million – certainly fits the bill.
Curiously, manager Roberto Martinez has recently suggested the Toffees may cash in on Lukaku during the summer. When asked whether rejecting bids for their developing talents was key to future success at Goodison, he unexpectedly replied; “Not really, no. If Manchester United cannot keep Cristiano Ronaldo, that is a sign of a modern game. If you sell a player for those sorts of amounts, you can get the benefit of adding three or four players.”
