According to reports from Calcio Mercato, the agent of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin has revealed he wants his client to join a ‘big team’ amid transfer interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

The prodigious shot-stopper is just 23 years of age but has already served as Genoa’s No.1 for three straight seasons, as well as featuring prominently during prior loan campaigns with Pescara and Padova in Serie A and Serie B respectively.

That has seen the 6 foot 2 ace become a regular selection within the Italy fold – although he’s only registered a single appearance to date – and earn comparisons with Juventus great Gianluigi Buffon, seen as his natural successor in the Azzurri starting Xi.

Perin has continued to impress this season, registering 48 saves and six clean sheets in 22 Serie A appearances, and has been on the radars of some of the Premier League’s top clubs for some time. Indeed, Calcio Mercato document long-term interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, whilst Liverpool were mooted as potential suitors ahead of the 2015 summer transfer window

And agent Matteo Roggi has now revealed that he’d like to see Perin secure a transfer to a ‘big team’ in the near future to help his progression as a goalkeeper. As quoted by Calcio Mercato, he recently told Radio CRC; “I hope Perin will play in a big team in the future. He has 120 appearances in Serie A, he is the only young goalkeeper to have so much experience of Serie A football at the moment.”

However, Roggi went on to warn that acquiring the youngster’s services would likely require a substantial transfer fee, perhaps unsurprising considering he’s rapidly emerged as one of world football’s most promising goalkeeping prospects and signed a contract until 2019 with Genoa only last year.

“Genoa are only going to sell him if the offer is too good, they won’t give him away,” Perin’s agent added, before revealing previous interest from Bayern Munich. “During the 2014 World Cup, Bayern Munich proposed him to move there, but he rejected because he thought it would have been too difficult to overcome Manuel Neuer as the first choice goalkeeper. That’s when I understood he is a mature player and person.”
