According to IL Tempo, Chelsea have seen a £31million bid for Arsenal transfer target Kostas Manolas rejected by Roma; whilst Nexogol claim Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has snubbed the chance to sign for River Plate.

Arsenal came close to signing the Greek international in summer 2014 but he agreed a transfer to the Stadio Olimpico instead and has since become a key member of the Giallorossi starting Xi, starting all but two of their 29 Serie A fixtures so far this season.

According to IL Tempo, the Gunners are still keen on the 6 foot 2 defender. But it appears Premier League rivals Chelsea have made their interest in the 25-year-old more formal, recently launching a £31million transfer bid. Roma, however, rejected the offer and hope to extend Manolas’ contract until 2020 to fend off future interest.

Meanwhile, Nexogol report that Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has snubbed the chance to sign for River Plate in his native Argentina. The 70-cap international serves as David De Gea’s understudy at Old Trafford and has made ten appearances across all competitions so far this season.

River Plate approached the 29-year-old with the offer of making him their new No.1, but Romero wants to continue his career in Europe should he leave the Red Devils during the summer transfer window. It is further reported that if the 6 foot 3 shot-stopper returned to Argentinian football, he would only want to play for boyhood club Racing.
