Marc-Andre Ter Stegen According to reports from The Telegraph, Manchester City are on the verge of completing a £20million deal for Liverpool and Manchester United transfer target Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. 

The 23-year-old is amongst the most promising young goalkeepers in world football but has grown frustrated with life at Barcelona, finding himself reserved almost exclusively for Copa del Rey and Champions League action since sealing a transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach in summer 2014.

That has seen a number of Premier League clubs linked with the German international ahead of the summer transfer window. The Telegraph document interest from Liverpool and Manchester City – who are both believed to have launched official transfer bids last month – whilst Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Ter Stegen as a potential replacement for Real Madrid target David De Gea

But according to The Telegraph, the Citizens are set to claim victory in the transfer battle for the shot-stopper’s signature. They report that the future presence of Pep Guardiola has convinced Ter Stegen into an Etihad switch, in a transfer that will set the Citizens back around £20million.

Ter Stegen is being signed to provide competition for City No.1 Joe Hart, with current understudy Willy Caballero expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
