According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal are ready to launch a £30million transfer bid for Liverpool and Manchester City midfield target Granit Xhaka.
The Switzerland international is one of the Bundesliga’s emerging stars, already donning the captain’s armband at Borussia Monchengladbach at just 23 years of age.
Dubbed ‘young Schweinsteiger’, Xhaka offers a similar kind of service to the German World Cup winner, combining culture in possession with robustness and tenacity off the ball – although that has seen him pick up three red cards in just 22 league outings already this term.

Nonetheless, the combative midfielder has made no secret of his desire to seal a summer transfer to the Premier League, recently describing it as ‘his dream‘, and that interest is reciprocated by three of England’s biggest clubs.
Indeed, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked throughout the season, with some sources claiming the Citizens have already launched a transfer bid and others alleging the 23-year-old’s agent has held talks with Jurgen Klopp regarding a potential Anfield move.
But according to Mirror Football, the Gunners are now preparing a £30million bid for the coming transfer window, after scouting the 6 foot 1 enforcer a whopping 30 times this season.
Arsenal are known to be planning a huge midfield investment for the summer, with Bosman-bound trio Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini set to leave the Emirates on free transfers, and it appears Xhaka is Arsene Wenger’s priority target.
