Atletico Madrid have been linked with a summer bid for the former Valencia star whilst a lucrative transfer to the Chinese Super League has also been suggested, but the latest reports from A Spor claim Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are keen to strike up a deal. Aged 27, however, Mata may feel he still has time left at the top level of the European game.
Meanwhile, The Metro – citing reports from The Times – claim Arsenal will look to agree extended contracts with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla during the summer transfer window.
Improved deals for Sanchez and Ozil have been speculated for some time, whereas the mention of a new deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is perhaps the most surprising. Other sources have strongly suggested he’ll be sold during the coming transfer window, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham all linked with an interest in signing the underperforming England international.
